After years of seeing several doctors for different things, it is a refreshing change to see a doctor who understands how all the systems of the body work together. Dr. Turner’s ability to treat the whole person is remarkable and much-appreciated. Oftentimes a physician talks about treating the whole person — but with Dr. Turner, this is true. He is a compassionate listener, incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, and seems to hear what is said. He understands that — as the patient — I have full knowledge of what goes on with my body: I know when things feel off or something isn’t working, and Dr. Turner is always willing to hear and validate my concerns.

Additionally, Dr. Turner is aware and appreciative of the other physicians I see — he considers them part of his team, and himself part of their team. He knows what other treatments I am receiving and works with my team of doctors to facilitate the best treatment plan for me.

Being treated like a valuable part of my own healthcare team is extraordinary and is an example of the excellence of care I have received as a patient of Dr. Turner. Together we have made great strides in my journey to health and wholeness.

In 2010, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia – officially, I should say. If you are like me, than you understand that an official Fibromyalgia diagnosis comes after years of being in pain and struggling to get help. I had bounced from doctor to doctor and treatment to treatment. Most had very little impact and little-to-no relief. When I was referred to Dr. Michael Turner, I expected the same run-around. What I received instead has been nothing short of divine intervention — he is my healer, my cheerleader, my coach, my accountability partner, and, most of all, my light at the end of the Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain Tunnel.

I have been a patient of Dr. Turner’s now for six years. The best quality of Dr. Turner is that he always listens to me. He listens to what I am tell him about how my body is doing. In my opinion, my needs are very different from everyone else’s – as are yours! Not all Fibromyalgia patients can be treated in the same way – what works for me may not work for you and vice versa. Dr. Turner understands that; he listens to me at each visit. There have been many tears cried at those appointments, but no matter what, I always leave with a plan and hope!

As my treatment has progressed, we have been able to set up a maintenance plan: What does my everyday life look like? What do I need to do to function at work or and with my family? Dr. Turner gave me a plan! We also have a flare-up plan: If I have a bad flare up, I know what to do to help myself. I also know that Dr. Turner can help me further if I need an extra appointment. My favorite treatment plan I like to call my “Special Event” plan. Prior to Dr. Turner, I missed some activities with my family because I felt the pain afterwards just was not worth it. Now I do not have to choose! As an example, a couple years ago, I was going to Hawaii with my best friend and we wanted to do a three-hour zip line excursion. After I shared my plans with Dr. Turner, he went right to work! He showed me exercises to do on my own. I worked on my core muscles to help strengthen them, and we did a couple of medical treatments. We worked together to make sure that my body was ready and that I felt confident that I could do the zip line trip. The feeling of knowing that I could do that special activity and have no regrets the next day is hard to explain. The feeling of not missing out is something that I cherish every day. The relief of not having excruciating “down days” after doing something fun is both something that I cannot explain and something that I cherish every day!

So the big question … Would I recommend Dr. Michael Turner? Absolutely! I cannot imagine my life without his care. Thank you Dr. Turner for all that you have done and all that you continue to do for me. You are amazing!

One of the best things about Doctor Turner is the time he takes to get to know a person. He actually takes time to ask questions and find out about the person. That means a ton in today’s world; he didn’t make me feel like a number.

He makes the effort to work with me and formulate a plan. He talks with me and tells me where we’re going and how we’re going to get there.

Most importantly, I feel that he’s very kind and sincere, and looks for a deep answer to my problems — not just putting on a band-aid and sending me away.
